Hello! I am critique and live in Tokyo. I am constructing website of "I.F.R.(Image, Forme, et Representation)". I.F.R. is recorded qrchives of art and culture. In Japan, there are not "Hi-art". Hello, I guess I will respond to regard your message (1694). I am also Japanese. And I've been study in my University for a couple year. My University is Cornish College of the Arts. It is located at Seattle, WA. The Cornish is Private 4 years college. And It is really small school. I haven't seen the Japanese students this college. The number of students are about 700. ( The Art Department students are about 80 ~90 people, The Design Department students are about 90 people, and so on) The school is really storong arts background. I guess you like it. Her piece 'Honey, Beauty and Tasty' is a provocative live performance which involves the manipulation of records on a DJ deck with her tongue and copious amounts of honey.
The home Salon provides a space for the informal presentation of new, experimental and work-in-progress performance and live art in the domestic context of home. Juncture brings together the work of nine dynamic, contemporary international artists from a diversity of practice, positioning, and politics. The central commonality within this variation, is the investigation into notions of identity made by each artist within their own specific context. Particular emphasis is given to the gendered body, racial myths, personal phobias and urban youth culture.

GENT: hoekje te huur (piece for outsiders)
LIER: en trance only (piece for insiders)
For GENT I plan to make an architectural piece. The room itself is a corner. You cannot enter but only look at it from outside. I want to create a wall which hides the corner. So the gaze will remain outside and connected with the spectator's body. I'll build the wall by spinning a thin and transparent material, just like a spider builds its net. The hoekje is the corner is the most simple schema for the desire of quietness.
For LIER there will be a main piece from iron tubes. I will build a number of wardrobes which create a spacial structure you can walk through and put your clothes on (it will be cold outside, but nice and warm in the gallery). The big front window will be covered with buttermilk. Each time somebody enters the space, he is asked to lick his finger and draw a line into the buttermilk. Each line opens the surface for the gaze into and outside of the room. This is going to be a drawing, growing during the exhibition. There will be a multiple: a tapestry of black and white copies covers the back corner, building a spacial hatching like the piece in GENT, the wardrobes and also the window drawing. People are invited to examine their home's corners by using the multiplied sheets.
LIER and GENT connected: I guess the idea of space is necessarily connected with the idea of direction. I'm drawing my line...

te definiáìen. Alhoewel 'flikkeren' geschikt lijkt om hun gebruik van lichtfrequentie te omschrijven, geeft het geen indruk van hun intensiteit. 'Flitsen' houdt wel de intensiteit in, maar is beperkt tot een zekere eenvormigheid. Misschien zijn deze werken nog het beste te beschrijven als zijnde samengesteld uit een plexiglas scherm ter grootte van een postkaart dat in een muur werd ingewerkt. Op dit scherm wordt het ritmisch pulsen van 'flikkerende flitsen' getoond. De zintuigen van de toeschouwers spelen een actieve rol in de visualisering waarvan de kunstenaar de beperkingen en grenzen zichtbaar maakt.

Although 'flickering' seems to describe their use of light frequencies, it does not express their intensity. 'Flashing' may imply intensity but also corresponds to a comparative uniqueness. Perhaps it is best to refer to these works as consisting of a plexiglas screen about the size of a postcard, fit into the wall and finishing flush with its surface, in which the rhythmic pulse of 'flickering flashes' can be seen. The equipment ( monitor, video recorder, tapes of computer generated flashes ) is concealed. The works' aesthetic is thus a primarily technical matter.
The viewers' sensoria play an active part in processes of visualisation, as the artist renders their innate boundaries and thresholds visible.
